Art in Mineral Point

Art and history fill a southwest Wisconsin village.

In southwest Wisconsin, Mineral Point is friendly, unpretentious and full of art. The National Trust for Historic Preservation called it "an architectural treasure trove,'' naming it one of a Dozen Distinctive Destinations.

What to do: Take a class at Shake Rag Alley arts center. See a play at the Alley Stage. Learn about the town's Cornish heritage at Pendarvis. Shop in the galleries on High Street.
